Help

If you’re a little uncertain about what you should be doing on this site, or you want to add/edit an event or just leave a comment, this is the place to be!  All the information you need is contained in the simple steps below. If you get stuck, a more detailed guide can be found in the links under each title, conveniently named ‘More details’.

Login

1. Go to http://local.stopclimatechaos.org/wp-admin
2. To Comment, login with your preferred social network  *
3. To Upload/Edit an Event, login using your Username and Password by selecting sign in with a password at the bottom of the page.
4. If you want to upload an event or edit a previously exisiting one and haven’t done so before, please contact Tom or Nishma at web[at]stopclimatechaos.org mentioning who you are, what group you represent and what events you want to put up. Then, we’ll send you a Username and Password to use.

* Note:  If you’re a first-time commentor, please note that your first post will be moderated and if accepted, subsequent posts will be automatically visible.

Adding a Post

1. Login
2. Click on Add New under Posts
3. Enter Event Title (Location – Event Name) and Details in centre column
4. Under Event Editor add the time and date of the event
5. Check the Categories that apply most to the location of your event
6. Click on the tags that apply most
7. (Optional) Under Location, enter the location of the event (and add [geo_mashup*_map] to your events detail, removing the *).
8. Publish by clicking on the dark ‘Publish’ button on the right.

Adding Media to an Event

1. Whilst editing or adding a page, you can also add media.
2. Upload your chosen media by clicking on the images at the top of event details box (Upload/Insert)
3. If uploading from your own material, you can choose to upload from your files, a URL or the Media Library.
4. Upload the media file,  edit the details accordingly under show and hit the Insert into Page button.*

* Note:  If the media file is too large it will not load and will come up with an error message.

Editing an Event

1. Login
2. Click on Edit under Posts
3. Scroll over the event you require and click on Edit
4. Make the changes you would like
5. Check that the correct Categories are still checked
6. Click on the Update Page button above the tags section.
